The Solid Rock is a Horse Rescue rehabilition Ranch First. We are a 501(c)3 organization, so all donations are tax deductable.Your support and donations are welcome. but that's not where it stops. Once we get the horse healthy and trained, we use them for an enjoyable trail ride thru the mountains. The donations we receive for the trail rides help us to financially support and care for these great animals. On the trail your guide gives you a little history about the horse your riding and about us; and at the same time they get to know you. Before you leave the ranch you feel at home, your family becomes an extention of our family.
Deborah & Family
Hi everyone I'm Deborah and those people that are with me are my family. Well at least must of them we are missing my oldest daughter Victoria and her husband Mike. We can never seem to get the whole family in one picture. I have three great children Victoria, James(Bud), & Cody Jean. I also have seven grand children. All whom help out around the ranch. My grand children help out in the summer from putting hay in the barn, cleaning stalls and they also help fix and maintain the trails. Which is all done by hand. In 1998 I were blessed with the ranch which is in a perfect spot with close to 100 acres of land located in the Adirondack Mountains and only five minutes from the great Sacandaga lake. I started the trail rides for the support of the horses. My family try's to bless people with what we have been blessed with. In the month of May we put together a Music & Art Festivals to start out the year. We try to do at least 3 festivals per year, but for us to do them we need your support if you don't show up and enjoy yourself we won't be able to have them. The music festivals are fundraisers for our ranch so they are also tax deductable. So my family ask please come support the ranch and have fun while you are doing it. We are also looking to do dinner rides and over night rides in the future.
The Trail
From 7 to 97yrs.young; Our family would like to invite you, your family, and you freinds on a relaxing horseback ride in the mountains. All rides have their own guide and are approximately one hour long, but we also provide longer rides. Our trails are all hand groomed, so if you happen to see a rack,a shovel, or even a wheelbarrel; along side the trail it's because that part of the trail is a work in progress. And don't forget to ask your guide about the Music festivals while your on the ride they are more then willing to give you all the information you need.
Saddle up for St. Jude's
For the past four years we have been doing a trail ride and pig roast just for the children at St Jude's. Every year we are hoping for a bigger turnout of people. On this day people from all over bring their own horse and their donations they collected and ride for 1 hour to 4 hours. After the ride we have a pig roast with live music. People come to the roast and give a donation even if they choose not to ride. With raffles, plenty to eat, good music, and great people, everyone has a awesome time.
Horse Rescue/ Rehab.
Rather it is because they're blind,lame,sick, old or just not wanted.Many horses end up like this, and that is why we started the ranch. There are an overwhelming number of horses that end up like this,or worse they go to the slaughter house or die from starvation. So we bring them home. Here we have them vet. checked get them their shots, worm them. have their feet taken care of, and give them alot of love, care and time to get healthy. There are some that won't beable to ride, and that's okay because their home. The horses that can are trained a use for trail rides and other activities and some are adopted out to good loving homes. You might be thinking we could be over working them on the trail rides; we're not; when they don't want to ride they let me know, and they get the day off. If you would like to help us with any type of donation, be it finanial,feed,blankets,or brushes. Everything is greatly appreciated,and again all donations are tax deductable.
